Preston for the Fifth Round

Last updated : 28 January 2002 By Mike Reich

If West Ham beat Chelsea for the second time this season at Upton Park, the Hammers will entertain Preston North End at Upton Park for the twenty-fifth time in the club's history, and the first time in the FA Cup since the 1964 final.

Ex-Hammer Rio Ferdinand, and Irons supporter Brighton & Hove Albion striker Bobby Zamora smiled when they pulled West Ham's ball out of the bag for a home tie against the North West side.

West Ham will be pleased with the home draw, and Preston North End are certainly a side that the Hammers can beat without too much difficulty, although they are a lower division side...

But first there is the matter of the fourth round replay against Chelsea at Upton Park to contend with. Ticket details will be posted here as soon as they are known.
