Rampant Rooney downs Hammers

The Hammers took a 2-0 lead into the break following two penalties from Mark Noble.  The first came when Patrice Evra clearly handled the ball in the area after some tidy work by Carlton Cole.  The second came when Nemanja Vidic bundled Cole over when he was through on Cole.  Many pundits suggested that Vidic should have been sent off for the challenge.

In the second half Manchester United and in particular, Wayne Rooney came out with renewed impetus and turned the game on its head.

A free-kick, a stunning solo effort and a dubious penalty for handball against Upson stole the game away from the Hammers before Javier Hernandez pinched a late fourth.
