Reaction to The Hammers' defeat against Nottingham Forest

Alan Pardew was obviously disappointed with the final result on Sunday but will try to remain positive as he looks to pick his players up for their midweek trip back up to the East Midlands to play Derby County on Wednesday.

On his team performance he said, "We feel we have been mugged, we looked in control of the game but we went to sleep in the last 10 minutes. We needed to keep the ball and kill the game off and we had enough experience to do that.
We've gifted
Forest three points and cannot do that. If you look at how we played for the first 80 minutes you'd say we were a good team, and the players know that."

West Ham midfielder Luke Chadwick was similarly disappointed when he spoke after the game. “Everyone was gutted; we played quite well to get the lead and then we conceded two goals in a mad last 10 minutes - it was heartbreaking because I thought we had three points in the bag."

"It was a great finish by the lad but I thought we deserved three points, never mind one - hopefully we can bounce back on Wednesday night. We should be closing games out and we had chances to score more than we did, so it is very disappointing."

West Ham’s new loan signing Calum Davenport was also trying to look forward to the game at
Derby County. “To be fair, both goals were great strikes, bits of magic - but despite our disappointment we have got to pick ourselves up for Derby now. There is a lot of character and experience in the side and we have to use that at Derby.”

Malky Mackay has words of praise and encouragement saying, “The fans are fantastic; since I have been at the club I have seen the outstanding noise they make at home and away.

I hope they know they are going to get us fighting to get three points wherever we go - they will always get commitment from us - and I think they appreciate that.”
