Rebrov brace for Reserves

Two late goals from the Saints reserves (90 & 92) were enough to defeat the Hammers who had looked to be on their way to victory.

Rebrov scored with strong strike midway through the first half and it wasn’t until 20 minutes from time Southampton struck back.

Kevin Keen was disappointed to lose the game and had these words to say after the game.

“We played quite well in the first half in what was a very open game with lots of chances”.

"After the break Southampton came out strongly and got the equaliser after James Walker had already made some good saves. We then got a second when Greg Pearson was brought down and Sergei scored a penalty. "

"We had other chances but they scored in the 90th and 92nd minutes from set pieces - a corner and a long throw - which we should have defended better.”

"In the end it was an extremely disappointing result and it feels like it did for the first team at Forest the other day - you feel aggrieved at losing."

Rebrov's goal and his all round performance must surely put him in contention to start in his more favoured role as a striker in the First Team.
