Sergei took a knock to the knee in West Ham’s 1-0 defeat to Chelsea in the Carling Cup on Wednesday night and will need a few day’s rest before he can resume training.
As a result of Rebrov’s injury, Don Hutchison, who was due to join
West Ham manager Alan Pardew said when speaking to the official West Ham site this afternoon; “Don Hutchison was going to go out on loan for a month but I have held him back because he is going to be involved now, with Teddy also missing.
“We were looking to loan him for a month to get him up to speed - but that doesn't suit us now.”
On a brighter note, on-loan England U-21 defender Calum Davenport and young midfielder Carl Fletcher look set to return to the squad after injury. Veteran full back Chris Powell may also be available.
