Roeder: No Transfer News Yet

Roeder: On the look out
Glenn has been speaking to the club's site, and commented on most of the names linked with West Ham recently, dismissing them as either speculation, or just not happening.

Jocelyn Gourvennec, who has been on trial at Upton Park and currently playes at Rennes is not coming to the club says Roeder. "He is going back to his club," said the Hammers boss.

Paul Gascoigne, currently at Goodison Park, and travelling down to West Ham tomorrow for the Everton match is certainly not on his way. "It is simply because he is a player at Everton, I am managing at West Ham, and people need to fill newspapers. There is nothing else to be said about it."

However, ahead of the Everton match tomorrow night, he said of Paul Gascoigne: "He has been one of the most outstanding talents. In his career he has had periods through injury or whatever, where things haven't gone the way he wanted them to go, but no-one can deny that when he was at his best Paul Gascoigne was a joy to watch.

"Without doubt he is one of the best, I don't really like comparing one player with another, but he is one of the best and I am very fortunate to have worked with him. I hope that he is not at his best for this particular game, I know Paul wouldn't mind me saying that."

Regarding Svetoslav Todorov's move to reunite with Harry Redknapp at Portsmouth, Glenn said: "We are looking at the work permit; if he moves on to Portsmouth he needs to have a new one, and we are working on that at the moment."

Despite the current lack of transfer activity at the club, Glenn assures the fans that he is actively looking, and hopefully there will be more talent arriving at Upton Park before the March transfer deadline.

"There are players out there we could take but I don't think it would particularly help our cause. I have targeted a couple of players I would like, and it is a question of whether we can manage to get them to the club.

"There are always reasons that you can't get the players that you want. But we are working hard at trying to find our way around some obstacles."
