Roeder on the Match and Transfers

Roeder: No more transfers
Speaking after the game on Saturday, Glenn said "We let them get away with it. I don't care what Arsene's said - that was a winning performance from us and we only took a point from a game we should have won.

"Look at Sinclair's shot which hit the post, or Kanoute's shot which Seaman got an elbow to and didn't quite roll over the line for 3-0."

True words, but it was West Ham that threw the game away, with Kanoute rolling the penalty to Seaman and piss-poor defending for their equaliser. Their first, as Roeder says, was one of those things that you can do very little about.

"Very few strikers in the world can hit the ball as hard as that. It takes some shot to beat David from there. Sometimes, although you don't like to, you just have to put your hands up and say 'well done'."

After stating a couple of weeks ago that he wasn't quite done in the transfer market, and wanted to get one more player, a striker, in before the window closes, Glenn is resigned to the fact that he has run out of time: "I'd never say never, but I do not expect any movement before Saturday."
