Roeder wants to bring in 3 or 4 new players

The West Ham manager is keen for West Ham to get off to a good start to the season but is aware that he needs to replace the recent exodus of players from Upton Park, particularly in defence.

"I'm still hoping to bring in three or four new faces," he told the London Evening Standard.

"It's vital that we make a good start to the season and very important that we are defensively sound."
