Sam ahead of Stoke trip

Sam was asked about his side’s preparations for the game after their fortnights break since the 1-0 defeat at Everton.

"Like everything else it's another game that we've had to wait a couple of weeks for and we obviously want to go and try to get a result,” said Sam.

“After a valiant effort at Everton, just losing by the odd goal shows that the basis of our team is our defensive qualities and on this occasion we couldn't convert any of our opportunities into goals as we have done so regularly before that.  It's a real tough game for us because their home form has been very, very good, as it was under Tony Pulis.  I think they're fifth in the table in terms of home form, only losing two, so it shows you how tough the game is going to be for us.

“Everybody has to be at their best on Saturday.  They've had a good rest, some time with their families then they've worked very hard this week to get ready for what they need to do on Saturday to get a good result at Stoke City."
