Sears joins Palace

A number of Championship sides including Sheffield Wednesday had been looking to take the talented youngster on loan but ultimately he has decided to stay in London.

Sears broke into the first team and scored the winner on his debut against Blackburn but has since gone around 30 appearances without scoring for Gianfranco Zola's side.

A statement from Crystal Palace reads: "Crystal Palace Football Club have agreed with West Ham United to take Freddie Sears on a season long loan."
