"I did score the goal; Joe won't be too happy about it, but it is his shot and it has come off me, and it is one of those things. It went past the keeper for my goal, but I couldn't tell you if it was going in; I was running for the pass from him, he has shot, and it has just come off my arm."
He reckons the lads have done really well recently, whilst the team have seemingly been balanced between relegation and Europe, and that yesterday's victory was vital in order to stay clear of the drop.
"We either took the three points from that game at home or we'd have been looking over our shoulders down the table. Every other game has been almost like a cup final for us but the lads seem to have coped with it well, though it is quite a stressful situation, and full credit to them."
And with the next game being Manchester United in ten days time, Trev reckons there is a little time of rest before going for it against the current Champions. And because we beat them earlier in the season, they will want revenge!
"Everyone is excited about that one and now we can go into it with optimism after the three points; we can have a little bit of a rest and recharge the batteries.
"I think it is going to be a really good game because United have been in unbelievable form, top of the table, and seem to be beating everyone by two or three or four goals.
"They were at a low point in their season when we beat them 1-0 and they will want their own back on us, so we have got to be aware of that. But we are not afraid of anyone at home and I don't see why we can't keep it going against Manchester United."
Joe, it seems is not really bothered about who scored the goal, as the three points is the most important thing. "I'm not really bothered who scores as long as we get the three points, and of course we did not have an argument; someone has taken it the wrong way."
And he says it has been blown out of proportion in the media that they have had a row - it was the opposite in fact.
"We didn't have a row, we had a laugh about it and we're not bothered who scored as long as we get the three points, that's all that matters. I struck it nicely so who knows if it was going in anyway; it took a deflection and Trevor says it was off him.
"I haven't seen any videos but it has gone in and that's all that matters. It was a scrappy game but, like I said, we came out on top and I thought we deserved it in the end."
And Joe's thoughts on the Man United game? "I don't think Manchester United will win!"
