Alan Pardew described The Hammers' amazing deadline day deal for two of the worlds biggest young talents as “a massive coup for us” whilst many others around the footballing world expressed their shock and disbelief at the transfer.


Chairman Terence, hated by so many Hammers fans, also expressed his delight declaring, “It is without doubt the biggest deal in our history and one that we are all very excited about.”


Both Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano have told of their delight at securing a move to the Hammers and told of the key influence of two men in their decisions to join West Ham.


Tevez told the official site how close friend Lionel Scaloni praised the club, “I had followed the club quite a bit last season because I am a close friend of Lionel Scaloni. We watched every West Ham game in Argentina because of our friendship and he spoke very highly of the club, its supporters and the manager.”


Mascherano told how boss Alan Pardew confinced him to join the Hammers after explaing the excellent team spirit in the dressing room at the Boleyn Ground. “Mr Pardew's enthusiasm rubbed off on both of us,” said Javier. “He talked about his vision for us and the club, and we both became very excited. He is organised, with a clear idea of what he expects, and I was very impressed with his approach.”


Hammers fans around the world can now look forward to exciting times at ahead as the club looks to take that step up to challenging the teams at the very top of the Premiership.
