Time to face facts

Another disastrous weekend for the Hammers saw them thrashed 4-0 by Alan Pardew's Charlton and then seeing Wigan climb further away from the drop zone after taking all 3 points from Newcastle.

The Hammers now looked destined for another season scrapping and scraping in the Championship after a season that promised so much looks set to end in a miserable failure.

Curbishley is said to be very close to the sack despite receiving the dreaded vote of confidence from Eggert Magnusson almost immediately after the game at The Valley.

Curbs said, "It seems that we have dropped into it and haven't been able to handle it.

"My office door is like a revolving door, with people coming in and out because of poor results and performances.

"Alan Pardew left the club because of results. He copped it, and if it happens to me it will be all about results."
