Time to sit down and be counted!

We have seen our club slowly go from being one of the best in the land to becoming what is now, a club in mountains of debt with a team barely capable of winning enough games to realistically challenge for a promotion slot, in what really is an average second tier of English football.

We have not only seen poor decisions made on the pitch but perhaps more importantly, the decisions made off the pitch have also caused major controversy for us fans.

The sale of Rio Ferdinand, the sacking of Harry Redknapp, the appointment (and late dismissal) of Glenn Roeder, relegation from the Premiership and the sale of millions of pounds worth of young English talent.

Our clubs debts are mounting, our promotion bid is in tatters, Alan Pardew’s job is insecure and finally there are rumours of a takeover being planned.

For all those fans that are feeling disgruntled, disappointed or bemused by the current situation at Upton Park now could be the time to voice your feelings.

A sit-in protest is being planned by a supporter’s action group to show the board of directors at West Ham how the majority of fans feel about our club and its current situation.

On Saturday the 9th April West Ham take on
Coventry City at Upton Park. It is proposed for all fans to support their team fully for the 90 minutes on the pitch and for them then to remain in the seats after the final whistle and voice their disapproval.

This peaceful protest is designed to show to the directors that we, as money-paying fans are not prepared to sit back and watch this great club fall from the top of the world into the oblivion of lower league football.
