Todorov Deal In The Balance

Todorov - Work permit issues
Bulgarian International striker Svetoslav Todorov, signed by Harry Redknapp for £500,000 from FC Lovech in January last year is set to move to Portsmouth any moment, providing a work permit is granted.

However, Portsmouth's original work permit has been turned down, but the club have been in negotiations with the Department of Employment due to discrepancies in the number of the Bulgarian's international appearances in the past couple of years.

The move should go through without a hitch, but with a delay such as this and the transfer deadline looming ever closer it may be causing Roeder, Redknapp and Rix to sweat more than they would like.

Hammers MD Paul Aldridge told the official site: "Toddy has, on occasion, been injured when he would have played for Bulgaria and so there wouldn't have been a problem as he would have met the minimum limit.

"The situation now is that there will be a decision on Monday and if it is not favourable, it will go to an appeals panel on Thursday. Either way, both Portsmouth and ourselves are confident of a successful outcome to the transfer in due course."

As far as other potential transfers are concerned, it appears that Bayern Munich are interested in Rigobert Song for a rumoured £3m, and Titi Camara has apparently stirred up interested in him at West Brom.

More on all three stories as and when they develop.
