Todorov On The Move?

Last updated : 18 February 2002 By Mike Reich
Todorov - Leaving Upton Park?
Svetoslav Todorov, the Bulgarian striker signed by Harry Redknapp a little over a year ago appears to be on his way to either Nottingham Forest or Portsmouth, with Harry Redknapp's influence likely to sway the young forward to a Pompey switch.

Harry signed the player for a mere £500,000, and West Ham are looking to make a small profit on the player with Portsmouth announcing a £750,000 bid has been accepted.

Portsmouth Chairman Milan Mandaric told their official site this afternoon: "I have given the green light to Harry Redknapp and Graham Rix to do the deal. We have been anxious to acquire a high profile striker and he is a young international who will bring the extra quality we need, to supplement Peter Crouch and Mark Burchill.

"We have a verbal agreement to the deal from West Ham and now it's a question of agreeing personal terms with the player and then getting down to the business of obtaining a renewal of the player's work permit."

It is alleged that Forest had made a £500,000 bid earlier, but this has yet to be confirmed. As usual, we will keep you updated with any further developments here.
