Upton Park Tour

Last updated : 10 March 2002 By Mike Reich
Let's start our tour at the Upton Park tube station. Then head up Green Street till you get to The Boleyn Ground

And here is your first glimpse of the Upton Park towers - the outside view of the new Dr Marten's Stand
The two huge towers are meant to look like the current Hammers Badge, and it's quite a good job they've done too - especially for Lego lovers

Then we'll go through the front gates of the ground, and head on into the new West Ham Superstore, on the left of the towers.
And here is the biggest West Ham Store in the world - everything from Hammers condoms to Replica kits
And here is one of the rooms in the West Ham United Quality Hotel - note the Hammers badge on the chair!
Unfortunately the communal loos in the stadium aren't quite as plush as the hotel guest facilities
Here is the view out of the hotel bedroom window - facing the east stand (and the infamous Chicken Run)
And the Bobby Moore Stand on the right, which is mainly comprised of Irons season ticket holders on match days
The Centenary Stand has been joined to the new Dr Marten's (or Rio) Stand - with additional seats installed in the former gap
Walking to the end of the balcony, you can see along the size of the new stand, with all the 72 boxes on the left doubling as hotel rooms on non-match days
Diagonally across from where we are standing is one of the two huge TV screens at Upton Park, situated in between the East and Centenary stands
From the pitch side, you can get a feel of the enormous scale of the Dr Marten's stand
Walking along the front of the West Stand, you come to the temporary dugouts (the new ones will be put to use next season once the pitch has been moved over), and the players tunnel
As we head up the players tunnel, a brief glimpse back at the sacred turf that is Upton Park
The players view of the tunnel as they come out of their changing rooms to start their stroll onto the pitch
And the home changing rooms - where di Canio, Cole, Carrick, Sinclair and co get ready for their home matches
And we come to the end of the tour, and snatch a final glimpse of the towers as we walk out up Green Street towards Barking Road
