FA Premier Academy Under-19: West Ham Utd 4 - 1 Norwich City

West Ham's youth sides had a better day at the races than the senior side today, with four points out of a possible six. It took 27 minutes for West Ham to take the lead, and it was Freddy Eastwood who scored, heading in Dean Smith's cross.

City needed only three minutes to equalise, when, like the senior team seem to do so often, they conceded from a corner. It was Shackell who headed in Smith's corner, which Hammers keeper Glen Jackson could only palm into the net.

Eastwood had a hand in the second Hammers goal, when his free-kick deflected off the Canaries' wall to fall nicely to Lumsden, who beat the keeper at the far post.

The second half continued much as the first did, with chances for both sides, and it was Jackson who again kept the visitors' score down with a great save from Jarvis.

West Ham stepped up a gear in the final quarter with two goals in two minutes from Memhet and Dean to make it a 4-1 victory to the Irons.

The Hammers Under-17 side managed a 1-1 draw away to Charlton Athletic in their last match of the season. 14-year-old Sose Yao was the super-substitute who scored the equaliser.
