With referee's ever keener to dish out cards of both colours for various crimes, and non-crimes on the football pitch, it will come as no surprise to fans that suspensions will inevitably occur.

Having gone through a period recently with five players facing imminent suspension, the Hammers find themselves with three players suspended for Sunday week's potential FA Cup fixture against Preston North End, or if we lost to Chelsea this week, against Middlesbrough in a Premiership fixture.

The suspensions start on Wednesday's FA Cup replay against Chelsea, with Paolo di Canio starting his three match suspension following his sending off at Stamford Bridge two weeks ago. Tomas Repka will then join him on the sidelines for Saturday's Premiership Bolton clash.

It is Sunday week's FA Cup tie against Preston North End (or Premiership fixture against Boro on the Saturday) when Glenn will most miss his players. The trio of Paolo di Canio (his last of his three game suspension), Trevor Sinclair (five yellows) and Sebastien Schemmel (five yellows) will be unavailable to the Irons boss.

Michael Carrick is also unavailable for the next six weeks, following a groin operation he had this weekend. Christian Dailly and Nigel Winterburn are also under Damocles' sword, having ammassed four yellow cards each this season.
