Robert Green's understudy for last season only made three appearances in Claret & Blue before being loaned to Southampton at the back-end of the year.

Wright was once fancied to be the No1 goalkeeper in the national team when he was signed by Arsenal from Ipswich back in 2001 for £6 million however he has since been unable to recapture the form of his youth.

He leaves the Hammers for an undisclosed fee after completing a medical and agreeing personal terms on a 2-year-deal.
