Zola Delighted

The Hammers had chances to win the game, with former Kopite Craig Bellamy hitting the post from 30 yards, but in the end they will have been delighted to travel back to East London with a point and their third clean sheet in a row.

"I am very pleased with my team performances of late," said Zola.

"It was another clean sheet and we knew that was something we had to achieve.

"We played a very good match, we had chances - as many as Liverpool - and we certainly deserved a point."

The Hammers were indebted to goalkeeper Rob Green who once again produced the heroics when they mattered, turning away a ferocious shot from Yossi Benayoun and making a fine late save from Dutchman Dirk Kuyt.

"Our goalkeeper Robert Green was outstanding, but then so were Matthew Upson and Craig Bellamy," added Zola.

"Robert is getting what he deserves for working so hard. He is performing well and if he continues to play at this level then he will certainly interest the England manager."
