Goals from Academy prospects Zavon Hines and Christian Montano were enough for victory in the Hammers’ first game after their summer break.

Returning from injury and playing his first football for over 18 months was Welsh defender Danny Gabbidon.  Julien Faubert, Kieron Dyer, Junior Stanislas, Jack Collison and Herita Ilunga all played at least 45 minutes.

“I was very happy today,” Zola told the official site.  “Everyone came through which is good because we have only had one week of hard training and this is still very early in the pre-season.  I am pleased with how the young players did and they had lots of confidence.  It is very encouraging.”
