"I have had a fantastic reception and it's amazing, this is a special place for me and all of the supporters made this a great day for me," Zola told the official site.

Craig Bellamy finally got on the score-sheet to put the Hammers one up at half-time however Nicolas Anelka scored an equaliser shortly after the break. Frank Lampard tried to earn a penalty with his diving swan routine when challenged by Lucas Neil in the area and Carlton Cole could only find Peter Cech when clean trough on goal in injury time.

"For the goal I was very happy for my players, especially Bellamy because he needed that goal as he was working hard and was getting frustrated about not scoring so I'm sure that goal will help him. It honestly felt like I had scored, I'm very pleased for him."

"Cole had a good shot and Petr Cech has made a very good save and also they had a very good chance but our goalkeeper was again outstanding so it was a fair result."
