That's My West Ham!

Why do we do it?
Why do we persist to get excited about big games?
We can only expect West Ham to let us down!

For the 30 or so thousand fans that made the long journey to Cardiff, it was the biggest anti-climax we've had to endure throughout the entire season (perhaps excluding Milwall and Reading away, or maybe Stoke at home...)

Had we left Cardiff having played out of our skins but losing to a single masterpiece of a goal from 45 yards, then perhaps I would now have forgotten about it.

In reality, the passion, desire and pride shown by 9 of the 11 starters was a disgrace.

I say 9 because as per usual Conners ran his socks of for every minute he was on the pitch and Stevie Bywater can hardly make the biggest difference being in goal!

People continue to tell me what a stinker Muggins had at left-back. Although I agree that he played awfully, he was there trying (in my opinion), his best to contain a particularly impressive Wayne Routledge. When people say that to me, I always bring up the fact that Marline Harewood never once broke out of a canter, and in fact, had we started with 10 men and not had him on the pitch, there would have been no difference in the scoreline. As a player, I rate him immensly. I think his pace, intelligence and skill could out-do most Premiership defences. Unfortunatley for half the games in a season, he could not care less.

OK, football (if you can call it that!) aside, the end of the match comes. We are all absolutely gutted, I sit there feeling sick looking at the players lying on the floor in disbelief, thinking to myself, "I'll clap Carrick when he comes over to thank the fans, because we'll probably never see him in a Hammers shirt again".

Did he come over to thank us?

In fact who come over to say thank you for our support through a very long year?

3 PEOPLE! Lomas, Bywater, and Dailly
That annoyed me the most. Why should we go every match, see them win or lose in the rain or shine when all we get for it is, no not Premiership football, but about 7 half-hearted claps.

Unfortunately the board has picked up on the fact that we are all fools, and increased the season ticket prices for next year knowing full well that we will pay the fee because we love West Ham United FC - that is why they get away with it.

Anyway, here's to what could have been, and let's all look forward to next year!!
