The deal totals £7.5million and is a major coup for the club with reported interest from Blackburn and Aston Villa amongst others.

The 27 year old signed a 5 year deal.

In 2005 the striker scored 13 goals in 27 appearances for Mark Hughes' Blackburn, before Liverpool signed the player for £6mil. He fired 9 goals in 27 appearances for Liverpool including one important Champions' League strike away to Barcelona.
