The 18 year old centre-back is the latest great hope from an academy which is currently bristling with the talents of Fred Sears and James Tomkins (who have sensationally broken into the first team in recent weeks) as well as those such as Junior Stanislas, Jack Collison and Jordan Spence.

Bondzo has been a fixture in the Hammers' reserve side for much of the season and Tony Carr is delighted with the progress of his academy graduates. Speaking to whufc.com he said:

"At the moment the youth team and the Academy are having a good little spell.

"We are getting players into the first team and the boys are still getting good results."

With the emergence of Sears and Tomkins and the air of excitement surrounding the current crop of youth players at West Ham, Hammers' fans will hope Tony Carr gets the recognition he deserves for his services to Football.
