In the week that the midfielder's agent Tony Finnegan revealed a transfer request had been accepted by the club, it appears the rationale was less of the England u21 captain 'wanting out' and more of West Ham not wanting to keep him. 
 
Reo-Coker told sky sports news:

"I just don't feel wanted and it's the way that I've been feeling for a very long time, since January."

"It's disappointing and heartbreaking just to see that I'm not wanted."

After an awful season Curbishley feels a major contributory factor was midfield ineptitude and is looking to correct that with the impending signing of Scott Parker. With this news the West Ham boss has made it clear that his new look midfield will have no place for the former Wimbledon man.
