Dyer move back on?

The omission has sparked rumours that, despite the public flogging in the papers of both teams by their opposing number, a deal is still in the offing for Dyer to make his desired move to West Ham United.

The deal had broken down due to Newcastle requesting £2million over and above the £5million + additional clauses previously agreed upon before the player completed a medical at Chadwell Heath. But either Toon owner Mike Ashley or chairman Chris Mort - whom, it remains unclear - stepped in at the eleventh hour with the new demands.

With the exclusion of Dyer from the squad to face Allardyce's former side, it looks that Newcastle are protecting the England international midfielder from picking up an injury which would finally put an end to the move which has been anticipated for many weeks now.
