Pardew: "Noone will get sold here"

Alan Pardew has made a strong statement signalling his intentions to strengthen the West Ham squad in the January transfer window. He said to skysports.com:

"Recruiting, for us, is the key area because it just needs one or two players to take us to another level," Pardew said.

He also made it plain that despite rumours of clubs in for Ferdinand and Reo-Coker, he will be aggressive in fending off bids for any of his players.

Pardew said "No one will get sold here, we've got these players under four and five-year contracts.

"Unless I feel the price is right, it will have to be excessively high for me to even consider any bid for any of my players."

With a clear commitment to his squad and belief in their abilities Pardew will be sending all the right messages to the West Ham players.

I think we're all hoping Pardew will be the man to end the Hammers'  reputation of being a selling club.
