Chelsea again completely dominated the first half of this match, but West Ham crept back in during the second half, with Glenn Roeder using his bench to the max.

First on was Jermain Defoe for Ragnvald Soma, who was having a poor game as part of a back five. Then Steve Lomas, returning from a broken toe, although not fully fit replaced Don Hutchison. Finally Vladimir Labant was given his debut, in place of Nigel Winterburn.

The goal came with five minutes to go, from the head of Freddie Kanoute.

The game will be replayed at Upton Park on Wednesday 6th January - expect the match to be shown live on the BBC.

A full match report will go online this weekend.

In the meantime, feel free to discuss it on the messageboard.
