Result: Chelsea 5 - 1 West Ham United

West Ham were thrashed today in our trip to Stamford Bridge. A first half goal just short of half time from Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink started the rout for Chelsea, before Eidur Gudjohnsen doubled the lead just after half time to effectively end the contest.

However, Hasselbaink got another before Paolo di Canio was harshly sent off for retalitation following an awful challenge by Jody Morris - who escaped without punishement.

Gudjohnsen then got his second, before super-sub Jermain Defoe came on to get a consolation for the visitors. Mikael Forsell was on hand to score a final goal for the Blues to compound West Ham's misery.
