Result: West Ham 2 - 1 Bolton

Steve Lomas put the Hammers ahead just a minute before half time, with a follow up to Jermain's well struck shot. The Hammers went in 1-0 up, with Spurs drawing 0-0 at Filbert Street.

The Hammers continued their dominance of the game in the second half, and Joe Cole was displaying the skills that had caught Sven's eyes in the recent months with all sorts of trickery and eye-catching moves. He almost scored after leaving several Bolton defenders in his wake, but just missed.

Djorkaeff pulled Bolton level mid way through the half, but Ian Pearce was the hero for the Hammers when he scored the winner just before the last whistle. With Spurs losing 2-1 Hammers fans around the world will be rejoicing.

It was a last outing for Nigel Winterburn and John Moncur at the Boleyn, but Hammers fans everywhere will be disappointed that faithful defender Stevie Potts wasn't given even a minute in which to notch up his 400th league performance for the club.

All in all though, a cracking result, and a fine display to top off a much better than expected season for the Cockney Boys in Claret 'n' Blue. Head on over to the messageboard and carry on the party there. If you haven't yet registered - you had better do so, and you'll be in with winning one of 10 West Ham DVDs and videos.
